Just after midnight yesterday,
convicted murderer Eduardo Soto, 33, was found hanging by a bed
sheet at Old Colony Correctional Center in Bridgewater.
State Correction Department
spokeswoman Diane Wiffin said [his death] did not stem from larger
problem in the prison system. "Any death in prison is an
unfortunate and sad occurence, but these aren't related," she
said. "We extend our sympathies to the families and the staff who
tried to keep them alive."
Wiffin would not indicate
whether... Soto suffered from mental health problems.
Soto was sentenced in 1991 to life
in prison after a second-degree murder conviction.
