The United Nations allows submissions to
its Human Rights Committee, reports that challenge the United States
government's official report. In May 2006, a coalition of 142 U.S.-based
non-profits and organizations and 32 individuals submitted a shadow report
that is the most comprehensive review of human rights violations in the
U.S. ever compiled.
